Service Region ：New Territories West (Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District, Tsuen Wan District, Kwai Tsing District, Islands District)
To support the implementation of the Basic Housing Units Ordinance on 1 March 2026 and Part IVA of the Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) Ordinance, effective since 22 January 2022, the Regional Service Team – New Territories West undertakes a key role in promoting these legislative provisions within the community. We work to strengthen public understanding of regulations relating to subdivided units, enhance residents’ awareness of tenancy protection, housing safety and complaint mechanisms, and provide coordinated support to subdivided unit households and grassroots families to safeguard their welfare and housing rights.
Our Services
- Assistance with applications for Public Rental Housing/ Transitional Housing/ Light Public Housing/ related subsidies
- Providing living support to tenant of subdivided units/ grassroots, with referrals to appropriate welfare resources as needed
- Promote the ordinance for regulating tenancies of subdivided units and assist in referring suspected cases of non-compliance
- Promote Basic Housing Units Ordinance, addressing inquiries from tenants, owners, and operators regarding its provisions
- Organize community activities and volunteer services to promote the ordinance for regulating tenancies of subdivided units and Basic Housing Units Ordinance, and relevant housing information
